It's hard to believe that the book I have dedicated almost a year and a half to is going to be released into the world tomorrow.
This is my first novel and, to be frank, I'm scared shitless. I'm the kind of nervous like when you were a little kid at Christmas just waiting for that one big present; the one that you asked Santa for and just knew that it was under the tree. The knot in the stomach, the need to just scream, that is exactly how I'm feeling right now.
My book was born out of wondering what choices I made that put me in the position I was in at the time. I was at a shitty job that made me feel terrible about myself and that's what made this story possible. Daydreams, wishes, talking about 'what-ifs'; that's where something cool can happen sometimes.
I hope you all enjoy the trip back to 1997 and hope that the world I write about feels familiar to you whether you were from New Paltz and the Hudson Valley or not. I hope the callbacks to some of the music, movies and games of the time stirs something in you that makes you feel like some of the experiences could have been something that happened to you and your friends. But more than that, I hope that you all enjoy the story.
I do have one thing to ask of anyone that decides to pick up this book from an unknown author and take this story for a spin: Please leave an honest review of what you thought of it on whatever platform you decide to read it on, buy it from, whatever. I'm really curious about what all of you will think of this world.
This post wound up being a little more sappy than I anticipated, but that's okay. Reach out to me tomorrow on my various social media channels if you order it!
Peace, Love and Pineapple Pizza,
Will
